Questions people actually ask
- What counts as one monitor?
- One check of one thing. A site's uptime is one monitor; watching that same site's domain expiry is another. Most agencies use one or two per client site.
- Do I need a card to start?
- Not to start. Every plan begins with a 14-day free trial and no card up front — you enter one when the trial ends.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- Nothing is deleted. Without a card your workspace drops to a reduced tier that keeps checking your first 3 sites every 5 minutes. Add a card whenever it suits you and the rest come straight back.
- Can I put a status page on my client's own domain?
- Yes, on the Agency plan and above. Point a CNAME at us and the page serves from status.theirdomain.com with their logo and no mention of us.
- Where do the checks run from?
- From our probes in Europe. Your data stays in the EU, which is usually the answer your clients' contracts need.
- Can I self-host it?
- Yes. Voltping ships as a single binary and a Postgres database. Get in touch if you'd rather run it yourself.
